An original hand-painted Warli artwork, 23 × 16 inches, framed and ready to hang. Painted by our artist The Artrovert — not a print, but a one-off piece.

Warli is one of India's oldest living art traditions — practised by the Warli people of Maharashtra, and built from the simplest possible vocabulary: circles, triangles and lines. Figures dance, farm, hunt and gather in scenes of ordinary village life, drawn without perspective or hierarchy. Everyone is the same size; everything happens at once.

That radical simplicity is why Warli sits so easily in a modern interior. It reads as contemporary and minimal to a Western eye while being unmistakably, ancestrally Indian — which makes it a particularly good piece for a diaspora home, or for anyone who wants Indian art that isn't devotional.

Why you'll love it

  • An original painting — hand-painted, not a print. There is only one.
  • A living tradition — one of India's oldest tribal art forms.
  • Minimal and modern — ancient technique that suits contemporary interiors.
  • Framed and ready to hang — 23 × 16 inches, nothing further needed.
  • Indian art without being devotional — for homes of any faith.

Perfect for

Living rooms, dining rooms and studies, housewarmings and new homes, diaspora homes and anyone with roots in Maharashtra, gifts for lovers of folk and tribal art, and offices.

Frequently asked questions

What is Warli art?
A tribal art tradition of the Warli people of Maharashtra, among India's oldest still practised. It builds entire scenes of village life from circles, triangles and lines — no perspective, no hierarchy, everyone the same size.

Is this an original painting or a print?
An original. It's hand-painted by our artist, The Artrovert — so this exact piece exists only once.

What size is it?
23 × 16 inches.

Does it come framed?
Yes — it arrives framed and ready to hang.

Will it suit a modern home?
Unusually well. Warli's stripped-back geometry reads as minimal and contemporary, even though the tradition is ancient.

Can I get it in a different size?
Yes — use the Contact button on this page to ask the artist.

Do you offer gift wrapping?
Yes, on request. Just mention at checkout that it's a gift and we'll arrange it for you.
