A set of two handmade clay diyas, shaped and finished by hand as an eco-friendly alternative to mass-produced festive décor. Made from eco-friendly clay, they can be displayed as they are or lit with a small round tealight candle.

A diya is the oldest and most recognisable symbol of Diwali itself: the small light set at a threshold to welcome prosperity in. Clay is the material it has always been made from — which is why these take a real flame comfortably, in the way a plastic or acrylic ornament never could.

Each one is made by hand by our maker Amanda, so every diya carries its own small variations. And because they're clay rather than disposable, they come out again every year.

No — you supply your own tealights, which lets you choose between real candles and LED ones.

Can I set them next to my rangoli?
Please do — a diya at each corner is the classic look. One note: if you're using our polymer or acrylic rangoli, keep a lit diya clear of the pieces, or use an LED tealight instead. Clay handles a flame; plastic doesn't.

Are they reusable?
Yes — these are made to be kept and brought out again each festive season, rather than thrown away after one use.
